Manchester United's 22-23 financial report: revenue of 648 million£

It has been reported that Manchester United's revenue for the 2022-2023 season amounted to £648.4 million (approximately €746 million). Despite participating in the UEFA Europa League instead of the UEFA Champions League, Manchester United's revenue increased by 11% compared to the previous season, breaking the revenue record for Premier League clubs. The previous record dated back to the 2018-2019 season when it reached £627 million. (In the 2021-2022 season, Manchester City ranked third with revenue of £619.1 million.)

The key to the increased revenue lies in the commercial sector, marking the first time in the club's history that commercial revenue exceeded £300 million. The Glazer family did not receive any dividends during this fiscal year, whereas in the previous seven years, they received a total of around £155 million.

Manchester United's club forecasts revenue for the 2023-2024 season to be between £650 million and £680 million. Their wage expenses decreased by £52.8 million, reaching £331.4 million, with the club citing "player departures" and their absence from the UEFA Champions League knockout stages in the previous season as reasons.

However, despite the record-breaking revenue, Manchester United's club still incurred a £42.1 million loss. The club's long-term debt, as disclosed, stands at £507.3 million, remaining consistent with the previous year. Nevertheless, the report notes that this year's debt, when calculated in pounds, is lower than the previous year due to year-on-year exchange rate fluctuations.
